Private motor truck council of Canada

CARGO THEFT costs up to $9 billion a year from companies shipping goods within Canada according to estimates by Canada’s insurance community.

It is among the fastest-growing organized and increasingly violent crimes. Brazen, daylight robberies are not unusual anymore and driver injury and hijacking is on the rise. Revenue from the thefts is often used to fund other criminal activities such as drug and gun trafficking and gang activity.

PMTC, in conjunction with Marsh Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and Calyx Transportation Group, presents the Fleet Security Checklist as a free service to the trucking community. Please feel free to use this checklist as one more tool in your defense system.
